This is the Privacy Policy (“Policy”) for the SuperSaver Application ( “Software” “SuperSaver”) published by The Mobi Hunter Trading as Karavan Media (Pty) Ltd (Registration Number 2014/160341/07) (“SuperSaver App ”) a private company duly registered in terms of the laws of the Republic of South Africa with registered address at 71 Waterkant Street, Cape Town, 8005 South Africa.
By using the Software known as SuperSaver which is a Chit Fund (known as Stokvel in South Africa) utility app and software - you acknowledge and agree that you have read, accept and consent to the terms of our Policy and processing of your personal information (including processing outside of the borders of South Africa).
This Policy governs the Software, and discloses to you important information about the use, processing and disclosure of your personal information collected through the Software process. We provide this Policy to help you make an informed decision about whether or not and how to use the Software.
SuperSaver will only use your personal information in accordance with the laws of the Republic of South Africa, primarily in accordance with the Protection of Personal Information Act 4 of 2013 (“POPI”).
The general purpose of collecting, processing and storing your personal information is to enable SuperSaver to provide products, information and activity management service that allows you to manage, consolidate, visualise and analyze your Chit Fund (Stokvel) activities, group financials, financials and other related Stokvel matters (“Service”) regardless of the device which you use to access it (e.g. a computer, mobile phone, tablet, etc).
Processing means any operation or activity or any set of operations, whether or not by automatic means, concerning your collected Personal Information, including:
the collection, receipt, recording, organisation, transacting, collation, storage, updating or modification, retrieval, alteration, consultation or use;
dissemination by means of transmission, distribution or making available in any other form; or
merging, linking, as well as restriction, degradation, erasure or destruction of information.
Personal Information means information relating to an identifiable, living, natural person, and where it is applicable, an identifiable, existing juristic person, including, but not limited to:
information relating to the race, gender, sex, pregnancy, marital status, national, ethnic or social origin, colour, sexual orientation, age, physical or mental health, well-being, disability, religion, conscience, belief, culture, language and birth of the person;
information relating to the education or the medical, financial, criminal or employment history of the person;
any identifying number, symbol, e-mail address, physical address, telephone number, location information, on-line identifier or other particular assignment to the person;
the biometric information of the person;
the personal opinions, views or preferences of the person;
correspondence sent by the person that is implicitly or explicitly of a private or confidential nature or further correspondence that would reveal the contents of the original correspondence;
the views or opinions of another individual about the person; and
the name of the person if it appears with other Personal Information relating to the person or if the disclosure of the name itself would reveal information about the person.
Registration information: If you elect to register with the Software, you provide certain personally-identifiable and non-identifiable information, such as your full names and mobile phone number, when subscribing to the Service.
Profile information: When using the Service you may provide certain other personal information and content such as your name, gender, birth date, mobile phone number, that you provide when you register to use the Software. If you provide any such information, SuperSaver will not share it with third parties or use it for any purpose other than to provide the Service.
Location information: To provide the Service, we derive location information from your wireless carrier, third-party service providers, and/or directly from your mobile device if you have enabled this.
Check information: When you open the Software, details of how, when and for how long you accessed and used our services, which pages you accessed and viewed and what you did on those pages is retained. We retain this information and may use it with other data as part of analysing, improving and supplying the Service.
Direct communication information: When you send email or other communications to the Software, we retain those communications in order to process your inquiries, respond to your requests and improve the Service.
Transaction information: When you make payments or claims to your stokvel on SuperSaver , we may need information pertaining to your Bank Account details, Bank Card detail or other accounts information for debit or crediting purposes. This information is only disclosed to our authorised billing or banking service providers for processing purposes.
SuperSaver may use your personal information to operate, maintain, and provide to you and other users all of the features and functionality of the Service.
SuperSaver may use your personal information and location to track and analyse Stokvel industry behaviour patterns and trends in order to improve the quality of the Service and to create new services.
SuperSaver may use information such as your IP address to understand the geographic makeup of its customer base and optimise the usability of the Software on your device.
SuperSaver may use your email address or mobile number from time to time to send you messages from the Software such as privacy or security related notices, notifying you of major Software or Service updates.
SuperSaver disclose your personal information only to our authorised service providers with whom we contract to assist us in providing the Software to you.
Your personal information will not be sold, exchanged, transferred or given to any third party for any reason whatsoever without your consent.
SuperSaver may provide aggregate statistics about our sales, customers, traffic patterns and other Software related information to third parties, but these statistics will not include any information that could identify you.
SuperSaver may release personal information, including: registration, profile, or location information if required to do so by law, or in the good faith belief that such action is necessary to comply with any South African law.
SuperSaver also reserves the right to disclose personal information, including: registration, profile, or location information that SuperSaver believes, in good faith, is appropriate or necessary to enforce its Terms and Conditions; take precautions against liability; protect SuperSaver users from fraudulent, abusive, or unlawful uses; investigate and defend SuperSaver against any third- party claims or allegations; assist government enforcement agencies; protect the security or integrity of the Software or Service; or protect the rights, property, or personal safety of SuperSaver users.
Your personal information is protected by SuperSaver ’s authorised service provider through various security measures. All supplied banking/credit information is stored and encrypted into SuperSaver ’s payment gateway database supplied by Pluritone software development consultancy which is only to be accessed by those authorised with special access rights to SuperSaver ’s systems, and are required to keep the information confidential at all times.

SuperSaver uses safeguards to prevent loss of, or damage to or unauthorised destruction of personal information; and unlawful access to or processing of personal information.
In protecting your personal information, SuperSaver has due regard to generally accepted information security practices and procedures applicable in its industry and as prescribed by the POPI Act.
SuperSaver cannot ensure or guarantee the security of any information that SuperSaver receives on your behalf to operate the Software and Service.
SuperSaver cannot guarantee that such information may not be accessed, disclosed, altered, or destroyed by breach of any of SuperSaver ’s safeguards by a third party.

Your continued use of the Software constitutes your agreement to this Policy and any future revisions.
Unless there is a specific legal requirement requiring SuperSaver to keep your information, SuperSaver will only retain and/or store your personal information for so long as required for SuperSaver to perform its main purpose and for which the information was collected or processed.

You have a right to view and/or edit data that we hold about you that is inaccurate or incomplete. In certain circumstances, you can ask for your data to be deleted from our records.
Where certain conditions apply you have a right to restrict the processing of your data or removing your consent. For instance, receiving newsletter and direct marketing.
You have the right to request a copy of the data information that we hold about you. Access to this information may be subject to an administrative fee if your request is manifestly unfounded, excessive or repetitive.
You have the right to request your data to be transferred to another organisation or provided to you in a readable soft copy (i.e. word/excel format).
Upon SuperSaver becoming aware of any data breach, SuperSaver will inform you in writing in the event of any Personal Information it is holding is compromised.
SuperSaver will provide you with a report detailing the full extent and cause of the data breach and mitigating actions taken.
